I didn’t know what to expect when I published my first novel, Glory’s Key. Of course, my Mom had told me that I was a good writer, but my grammar has always been off, and my vocabulary limited. Even now, as I write these words, I am reminded of the American Idol contestants that make my ears bleed because of false confidence or ability, which is so often driven by a loved one. 

Then today, I refreshed my Goodreads author dashboard and was blown away by the support from non-blood-related readers who are enjoying my writing.  I wanted to scream, "HAH! Ryan Seacrest! My Mom was Write!"

Maybe all of our moms were right all along ...
